Privacy Policy

BuyWiser is designed to help you make more informed purchase decisions and learn from what happens afterward. This policy explains what data the app uses, why it uses it, and how you can control it.

1. Information you provide

Depending on how you use BuyWiser, you may provide account information, budget preferences, category limits, savings goals, purchase and wishlist records, cooling-off decisions, product details, post-purchase reflections, satisfaction or regret signals, usage-frequency information, and whether you would choose to buy a purchase again.

2. Product images and identification

When you choose or capture a product image, the image may be sent to BuyWiser's product-identification service so the product can be identified and analyzed. The app may keep a local copy on your device so the image can remain visible in the related decision flow. BuyWiser does not intentionally sync that product image to your account as part of cloud purchase history unless a feature explicitly states otherwise.

3. Product analysis and external services

BuyWiser may send product names, product-page URLs or metadata, and other information needed to understand a product to server-side services used for product identification and automated analysis. Server-side processing may use third-party AI or data services. API credentials are kept on the server and are not embedded in the app.

Some product insights, including environmental-impact or carbon-footprint information, may be estimates derived from product category or available product information rather than verified product-specific lifecycle data. These estimates are used to provide context and are not treated as verified measurements.

4. Automated decision support

BuyWiser uses automated analysis to generate purchase-decision recommendations and supporting explanations based on information such as your budget settings, goals, expected use, product details, purchase history, and decision history. These outputs are decision-support tools, not financial advice or guarantees. You remain in control of whether to buy, wait, or skip.

5. Account and synced data

BuyWiser uses Supabase for authentication and cloud data storage. Data associated with your account can include purchases, wishlist items, savings goals, budgets, category limits, purchase outcomes, usage-frequency information, post-purchase reflections, and "would buy again" responses, along with app-usage counters required for product functionality.

6. Subscriptions

Subscriptions and entitlement status are managed through Apple and RevenueCat. BuyWiser receives subscription and entitlement information needed to determine whether premium access is active. Payment credentials are handled by Apple, not by BuyWiser.

7. Analytics

The current production code does not send the app's canonical product analytics stream to a third-party product-analytics provider. BuyWiser is designed to avoid sending raw budget amounts, exact spending values, product images, sensitive user text, or personal financial details to analytics providers. Where monetary context is needed, the app uses broad buckets rather than exact amounts.

8. Advertising and tracking

Meta and TikTok advertising SDKs are not enabled in the current app configuration. BuyWiser currently does not declare cross-app tracking for advertising attribution. If advertising SDKs are enabled later, consent, App Tracking Transparency, this policy, and App Store privacy disclosures will be reviewed and updated before release.

9. Data retention and deletion

You can request account deletion from inside the app. BuyWiser's account-deletion flow is designed to remove user-owned application data associated with the account. Local-only data stored on a device may also be removed when you delete it in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Subscription cancellation is handled separately through Apple and does not occur automatically when an app account is deleted.

10. Security

BuyWiser uses authenticated server requests and database row-level security to separate user-owned data. Server-side secret keys are not intended to be included in the mobile application.

11. Your choices

You can choose whether to provide optional data, remove saved records through available product controls, restore eligible purchases, manage your subscription through Apple, or delete your account through the app.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when BuyWiser's functionality or third-party services change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
